Schoongezicht Country Estate

Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa

SOLD OUT

Schoongezicht Country Estate - Exclusive residential estate in Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape

Sale of final developer owned stands.

Schoongezicht Country Estate is the brain child of two brothers Werner & Kurt from Germany who dreamed of a retirement home in a place which matched their definition of “Paradise”. During a visit to South Africa and in particular Plettenberg Bay, Werner came across the Golden View farm on the slopes of The Piesang Valley and immediately contacted his brother Kurt who cut short a holiday and flew to South Africa to view the farm!

At the time there was nothing but a 150 year old farmhouse and terrain that could only be viewed via a 4x4 vehicle. The brothers agreed that this was indeed their Paradise and set about acquiring the farm. Schoongezicht “beautiful face or beautiful view” Country Estate was born and after shifting many tonnes of land the Estate today boasts over 89 houses, a boardwalk through the forest, five man-made lakes and state of the art security.

The Estate has an abundance of wildlife and you will encounter a melody of birdlife, mongoose, bush buck, duiker and guinea fowl to name a few of the many species, and it is common to spot several Knysna Loeries during walks on the estate!

There is also the original old farmhouse which was built in 1856 and has recently been lovingly restored for the use of homeowners, which reminds us that this was once an old farm.

The Estate places the emphasis on a tranquil living lifestyle and large secured green belt areas and water features strategically placed around the Estate bare testimony to this!

The Estate also boasts state of the art security and is perfect for owners not in full time residence. A number of foreign owners have purchased property on the Estate and live there during the European winters.

Schoongezicht has a substantial guardhouse at the main entrance, and provides 24 hour patrolled security. The entire perimeter is enclosed with high security fencing and surveillance cameras. The Estate has an impeccable safety record.

Schoongezicht borders the Plettenberg Bay Country Club with its superb golf course, tennis and lawn bowls facilities. The club grounds with its abundant wildlife has been declared a nature reserve.

Schoongezicht is also close to shops, chemists, restaurants and a top quality private hospital and is only within a few minutes drive from Plett's world renowned Blue Flag beaches!

Schoongezicht is the only true forested residential estate in Plettenberg Bay, is completely indigenous, and offers a superb secure lifestyle. The Estate is also pet friendly.

To finalise the development and declare the development as being finally “Sold Out” the developers have decided to market the last few stands in their possession that they have held onto at extremely attractive bargain prices.

Buyers can design their own home and choose from many quality architects and builders in Plettenberg Bay, but a unique feature at Schoongezicht is that the developers provide an in-house architectural design service and a full building turnkey project through Schoongezicht Construction Company, which is a totally unique and cost effective service, providing absent investors with complete peace of mind!

There are five dams and large tracts of land that have been left in its pristine indigenous state for owners to enjoy. The old Farmhouse has been lovingly restored for homeowner use. Schoongezicht has two forested walks where the amenities consist of boardwalks through the forests, with seating places and water points where one can rest. The Milkwood forest has 600 year old trees. The other forest consists of a large variety of trees and other species of flora and also has a natural waterfall that is often flowing.
