Winelands Village - Unique rural residential estate in the Stellenbosch Winelands
Winelands Village was conceived through a desire to be an example of a well designed, well managed and happy community in the unbeatable rural setting of the Stellenbosch Winelands - something that does not yet exist and a place where one can live in a way not possible anywhere else.
It comprises 41 single residential properties of various erf sizes from 500 hundred square meters up to 4328 square meters. Located on the edge of the historic village of Raithby, with clear views of the majestic Helderberg, Winelands Village lies nestled amongst the vineyards.
Raithby is home to a small farming community, situated between the towns of Somerset West and Stellenbosch just off the R44 onto Winery Road. Originally an evangelical community, it was established by Yorkshire missionary Barnabas Shaw following the abolition of slavery at the Cape in 1834.
Even today this small village which is home to about 600 people has a strong sense of community. You can see it in the way that people quietly go about their business. "It is very peaceful and friendly here. It is a good place for our children.”
